A man was killed instantly Thursday when his motorcycle collided with a truck that crossed in front of him on E Hillsborough Avenue, police said. The man, whose name had not been released Thursday night, was riding his 1981 Honda 750 west on Hillsborough Avenue about 5:20 p.m., Sgt. Michael W. McAllister said.
A red Dodge Dakota pickup traveling east on Hillsborough turned north onto 47th Street, McAllister said.
The motorcyclist skidded and hit the right rear of the truck, police Lt. K. C. Newcomb said. The rider, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead of head injuries at the scene.
The truck driver, Reuben J. Morgan, 61, of 3004 Pearson Road in Valrico, was not injured, McAllister said.
