The Clearwater High football team risks its 6-0 record this morning against host Sarasota-Riverview in a battle for first place in Class 5A, District 9. Both teams are 3-0 in the district. Kickoff is at 10:30. Riverview (4-2 overall) has lost to two state-ranked Bradenton schools, Manatee and Southeast. The Rams, who rely on a wishbone running attack, have outscored opponents 138-65.
Clearwater, which has a 131-65 edge over foes, has not scored on Riverview the past three games.
