Santa Fe Catholic clinched the Class A, District 6 title Friday night with a 35-0 victory over Temple Heights Christian at Titan Stadium. The win marked the first district championship the Crimson Hawks have won in 12 years. Santa Fe moved to 4-0 in the district, 6-2 overall; the Temple Heights Eagles dropped to 1-1, 3-4.
Leading 14-0 after three quarters, Santa Fe came alive in the fourth with three touchdowns.
Junior wide receiver Travis Williams made two of the three touchdowns in the fourth on receptions of 3 and 63 yards.
Senior quarterback Chris Wiggs threw to Williams for the first one with 10:02 remaining. The score capped a three-play drive set up by a Tony Chaloub interception.
Chaloub caught a stray pass from Temple Heights' quarterbackRobert Miller and ran it back 30 yards to the Eagles 21.
Wiggs, who was 10-of-22 for 110 yards passing, was replaced by junior backup Chris Macca late in the game. Macca connected with Williams for his second touchdown at the 3:59 mark.
