A series of debates between political candidates will be broadcast on cable television public access channels tonight, Sunday and Wednesday. The debates, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Hillsborough County, the St. Petersburg Times and Jones Intercable, will be on Jones Intercable channels 12 and 40, Paragon channels 33 and 52, Cablevision Ch. 17 and Telesat Ch. 47. Tonight's debates will be shown at 8 p.m. Featured races include state House District 59 between Democrat Brian Rush and Republican Polly Demma; state House District 60 between Democrat Mary Figg and Republican Todd Stevens and state House District 62 between Democrat S.L. "Spud" Clements and Republican Chris Corr.
Other races include state House District 65 between Democrat Elvin Martinez and Republican Andy Steingold and state House District 66 between Democrat Ron Glickman and Republican Jose Mijares.
The debates will be rebroadcast Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Jones Intercable Ch. 40 and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Jones Intercable Ch. 12 and Paragon Ch. 52. Another replay will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. on Jones Intercable Ch. 12 and Paragon Ch. 52.
