Zephyrhills extended its record to 8-0-1 over Dunnellon Friday in a 21-0 homecoming victory to snap a three-game losing streak. Zephyrhills (4-4) scored all three touchdowns in the first half. The Bulldogs scored first as Booker Pickett plunged over from 1 yard with 7:20 remaining in the first quarter. That play followed Pickett's 39-yard run. David Rinaldo added the first of three extra points to make it 7-0.
The Bulldogs tallied again on a 7-yard touchdown pass from Marcus McCants to Bubba Dunn later in the first quarter. Zephyrhills had taken possession at the Dunnellon 45-yard line following a short punt. McCants' 19-yard pass to Dunn set up the score.
McCants and Dunn hooked up again for a 12-yard touchdown pass with 4:58 left in the first half. The Bulldogs had taken possession on the Tigers' 42 after Pickett returned a punt 12 yards.
The second half was marred by penalties and turnovers.
Dunnellon, which was held to 18 yards rushing on 26 attempts, punted seven times. The Tigers (0-7) passed for only 39 yards.
