The Hockings Grace and Robert Frank Hocking of Brooksville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 6. A surprise celebration was given by their children Aug. 17 in Ohio.
The Hockings were married Oct. 6, 1940, at the United Church of Christ in Paris, Ohio.
Mrs. Hocking retired in 1981 after 40 years of self-employment at Grace's Beauty Shop.
Hocking retired from Union Metal Manufacturing Co. in 1972. They moved to High Point in 1981.
They are members of Canton, Ohio, Masonic Lodge F
AM 60, High Point Gulf Country Club and Mariner United Methodist Church.
They a son, Thomas, and daughter-in-law, Carol; a son, Fred; and daughter-in-law, Carol; a daughter, Dr. Barb Hocking; and a daughter, Denise Noyes, all of Canton. They have six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Martha and Elvest Dickerson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 14 with family and friends at a dinner at The Brown Derby in Hudson.
They were married on Oct. 20, 1940, in St. Michael's Church in Union, N.J.
Dickerson retired as a carpenter superintendent in 1983, and the couple moved to Spring Hill in 1984.
The Dickersons have four children: Glen Joseph of Lima, Ohio; James Michael of Palmer, Alaska; Patricia Ann Rowe of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; and William Arthur of Easton, Pa. They also have nine grandchildren and another due in June.
Col. Alden and Rose Reynolds of Spring Hill celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 13 with their family at Bentley's Restaurant in Clearwater.
The Reynoldses were married Oct. 13, 1940, in Springfield, Mass.
After retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1965, Reynolds served as business manager of the Elizabethtown Area School District in Pennsylvania for 10 years.
They moved to Florida in 1975 and are members of the Spring Hill United Church of Christ.
They have two children, Lorin A. Elizabethtown, Pa., and Rexford of Honolulu; and two grandchildren.
