Police seeking witness to bank robbery

Police say they think a bystander followed a bank robber from the crime scene Monday and may have information, but they cannot find the witness. The robbery occurred shortly before noon at Barnett Bank, 1300 66th St. N. The robber told a teller he had a weapon, though none was seen, demanded money and was given an undisclosed amount of cash. A dye pack attached to the cash exploded as he ran through the parking lot, and the man dropped the money, police said. He last was seen driving an older model brown or maroon car, possibly an Oldsmobile. He is described as white, about 35 years old, 5 feet 9, 165 pounds, with light blond hair parted in the middle. He wore a green shirt and blue shorts. The bystander drove a white 1-ton pickup with tandem wheels and a white topper. The truck had green lettering on its side that possibly said "SCUBA" or "CUB-A." Anyone with information should call Detective Dan McLaughlin at 893-7513.PTA to hold annual fish broil on Saturday
