The football game between Pinellas Park and Sarasota Riverview will be played Friday night at 8 at Riverview's Ram Bowl, Riverview athletic director and coach John Sprague said Wednesday. Riverview officials considered moving the game to 1 p.m. after Sarasota County officials recommended that some games be played Saturday because of the encephalitis outbreak in Florida. Last week's Riverview-Clearwater game was played Saturday morning, but SAT tests scheduled for this Saturday would have conflicted with the Pinellas Park game.
"They had to clear it with their superintendent of schools and the health commission," said Paul McLaughlin, Pinellas County's assistant director of centralized athletics. "That's what took so long."
Northside Christian's game with Lake Highland Prep (in Orlando) has been moved to 4:30 p.m. Friday.
