Dixie Hollins at Clearwater

Time and site: 7:30 at Clearwater's Jack White Stadium, Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard and Arcturas Ave. Team records: Dixie Hollins 6-1, Clearwater 6-1.

Last meeting: Clearwater 16, Dixie Hollins 13 (1989).

Key points: Clearwater comes off a 21-9 loss to Riverview. Both teams have potent running attacks. Dixie's is led by Serrell Rollins, who has 615 yards. Teammate Antron Killens has 497. The difference could be Clearwater's strength in the trenches, especially with 275-pound Greg Frey blocking for 220-pound Ben Harris (409 yards).

Boca Ciega at Osceola

Time and site: 7:30 p.m., Warrior Stadium, 9751 98th Street N, Seminole.

Records: Boca Ciega 3-4, Osceola 2-5.

Last meeting: Boca Ciega 31, Osceola 23 (1989).

Key points: The Warriors are playing their first district game since facing St. Petersburg Oct. 12. Both of Boca Ciega's district losses have been in overtime. Last week, a bad option pitch on the Pirates' first offensive possession of OT sealed a 14-7 victory for Dixie Hollins. Osceola has lost to Hillsborough County schools (Tampa Bay Vo-Tech and Bloomingdale) the past two weeks.

Northeast at Largo

Time and site: 7:30 at Largo's Packer Stadium, 410 Missouri Ave.

Records: Northeast 1-6, Largo 6-1.

Last meeting: Northeast 27, Largo 7 (1989).

Key points: Largo has one of the best point ratios in Pinellas County: 144-50. Still, the Vikings' pass connections could give Largo trouble. Quarterback Shawn Austin has thrown for 521 yards.

Pinellas Park at Sarasota Riverview

Time and Site: 8 p.m. at Riverview's Ram Bowl, One Ram Way, Sarasota.

Directions: Take I-75 south to Bee Ridge Road Exit. Take Bee Ridge Road west to Tuttle Road. Turn left onto Tuttle, which becomes Swift road, and proceed to Proctor Road. Turn right onto Proctor. Field is on corner of Lourdes and Proctor.

Records: Pinellas Park 4-3, Riverview 5-2.

Last meeting: Riverview 28, Pinellas Park 14 (1989).

Key points: The Pinellas Park defense has the big task of derailing the Riverview wishbone _ something no county team has been able to do. Riverview quarterback Luke Bencie has rushed for 297 yards and three touchdowns and passed for 452 yards and two. Fullback Derrington Abnar (220 pounds) has 92 carries for 423 yards and four touchdowns. Bernard Marshall has 40 carries for 269 yards.

Dunedin at Lakewood

Time and site: 7:30 p.m., Spartan Stadium, 1400 54th Ave. S, St. Petersburg.

Records: Dunedin 3-4, Lakewood 3-4.

Last meeting: Lakewood 20, Dunedin 0 (1989).

Key points: A non-district game. The Falcons fell 17-13 to Tarpon Springs last week. Lakewood coach Rich Ninis may continue his move for the future with quarterback Tony Hannah.

Seminole at Gibbs

Time and site: 7:30 p.m. at Newton-Williams Memorial Stadium, 850 34th St. S, St. Petersburg.

Records: Seminole 2-5, Gibbs 2-5.

Last meeting: Gibbs 36, Seminole 8 (1989).

Key points: Gibbs hasn't won since Oct.

5, Seminole since Sept.

29. The Gladiators' Mike Frazier rushed for 126 yards against Lakewood last week, and Seminole's run defense has surrendered 188 yards per game. Quarterback Arian Odom has 667 yards and seven TDs passing for the Gladiators. Uriah Shaw (298 yards, three TDs rushing) and Heath Bukolt (412 yards, five TDs passing) lead Seminole.

East Lake at Ridgewood

Time and site: 8 p.m. at Rams Stadium, Orchid Lake Road, New Port Richey.

Records: East Lake 3-4, Ridgewood 4-3.

Last meeting: Ridgewood 8, East Lake 0 (1989).

Key points: Ridgewood wins the Class 4A, District 8 championship if it beats East Lake tonight and Tarpon Springs next Friday. Ridgewood's Bill Niehr has rushed for 703 yards on 120 carries (5.9 average). He scored three touchdowns against Gulf last week. The Rams have been outscored 111-94.

Tarpon Springs at Land O'Lakes

Time and site: 8 p.m. at Gator Stadium, off U.S. 41 in Land O'Lakes.

Records: Tarpon Springs 6-1, Land O'Lakes 1-6.

Last meeting: Tarpon Springs 41, Land O'Lakes 12 (1989).

Key points: Tarpon Springs is on its way to a second straight 4A-8 championship. Land O'Lakes sophomore Mike Viccione has 32 receptions for 521 yards and six touchdowns, but the Gators have given up 197 points. Tarpon Springs has allowed just 58 points; linebackers Jeff Batten and Jimmie Lee anchored the defense. On offense, Tarpon has a good quarterback (Kevin Reid), but relies mainly on Batten (574 yards) and Deon Golden (637 yards).

Temple Heights at Shorecrest

Time and site: 8 p.m. at Haskell Field, 5101 First St. NE,

St. Petersburg.

Records: Temple Heights 3-4, Shorecrest 5-2.

Last meeting: Shorecrest 10, Temple Heights 0 (1989).

Key points: The Class A, District 6 title has gone to Lakeland-Santa Fe, but Shorecrest still can match its second-best record (8-2). Tailback Rob Nelson (653 yards, six TDs) can become the team's third 1,000-yard rusher in four seasons. Shorecrest has yielded 47 points this season. Matt Howell (591 yards, six TDs rushing) leads Temple Heights.

Fort Pierce-John Carroll

at St. Petersburg Catholic

Time and site: 7:30 p.m. at Joseph W. Paul Stadium, 6333 9th Ave. N.

Records: Fort Pierce-John Carroll 1-6, St. Petersburg Catholic 2-5.

Last meeting: None.

Key points: The Barons have lost two in a row since winning two straight and play at A-6 power Shorecrest next week. John Carroll's only win came against Melbourne-Florida Air Academy (27-14) two weeks ago. The Rams' multiple-set offense features running back Pat Harte (350 yards, five TDs) and quarterback Steve Neill (500 yards passing).

Clearwater Central Catholic at Hudson

Time and site: 8 p.m., at Cobra Field, off Cobra Way in Hudson.

Records: Clearwater Catholic 0-7, Hudson 1-6.

Last meeting: Hudson 52, Clearwater Catholic 0 (1989).

Key points: Hudson has lost its past six games after opening the season with a last-second win over Gulf. Cobras quarterback Bobby Fox (60-of-163 for 840 yards) will start after missing last week's game because of a hard hit the week before. CCC has been outscored 216-71. Quarterback James Burris does have 513 yards passing.

Northside Christian at Lake Highland Prep

Time and site: 4:30 p.m., Holloway Field, 901 Highland Ave., Orlando.

Records: Northside Christian 4-3, Lake Highland Prep 7-1.

Last meeting: Lake Highland Prep 33, Northside Christian 14 (1989).

Key points: Lake Highland has averaged 365 yards a game, led by running back Dan Parkins, eighth on the state's all-time rushing list with 4,821 yards. Parkins has scored 25 TDs and is averaging 10.8 yards a carry out of Lake Highland's wing-T attack. Lake Highland is ranked fifth in the state in Class 1A.


Orlando-Trinity Prep at Admiral Farragut

Time and site: 1:30 p.m., Blue Jacket Field, 501 Park Street N.

Records: Trinity Prep 3-3, Admiral Farragut 0-7.

Last meeting: Trinity Prep 21, Admiral Farragut 0.

Key points: This is the season finale for the Blue Jackets, who play only eight regular-season games. Farragut has scored 14 points and allowed 351. The A-5 Saints have a balanced attack.
