WHAT'S ON

Full House, tonight at 8 p.m., WTSP-Ch. 10 and WWSB-Ch. 40. Las Vegas crooner Wayne Newton appears as himself on this episode of Full House when co-star Dave Coulier opens Newton's act in the gambling town. Those who've seen Newton in person know he doesn't use a warm-up act and he doesn't sing Danke Shoen as seen in this segment, but then that's the stretch of TV show biz. Newton is performing at Ruth Eckerd Hall on Nov. 17, but both shows are sold out, so this may be a rare chance for fans (and he has millions who love his corny blandness) to catch his act.The Last Best Year, Sunday 9-11 p.m., Channels 10 and 40. Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters mesh their considerable talents in this story about a woman who has cancer of the liver (Peters) who consults a psychiatrist (Moore) to ease the emotional pain of the short time left to live.

Great Performances, WEDU-Ch. 3, tonight at 9. Kevin Kline directs himself as Hamlet in this replay of last spring's New York Shakespeare Festival production. Taped in August, costars are Diane Venora as Ophelia, Dana Ivey as Gertrude and Josef Sommer as the pompous Polonius.

On Thin Ice: The Tai Babilonia Story, WFLA-Ch. 8, Monday at 9 p.m. The title of this TV-movie indicates life was not smooth skating for the world champion figure skater, portrayed by Rachael Crawford.
