The Brownings Robert A. and Josie Ruth Browning of St. Petersburg celebrated their 50th anniversary with family and friends at a reception Dec. 9 at Clearview Baptist Church. The Brownings were married Dec. 24, 1940, in Athens, Ala., and came here in 1941 from Athens. Robert is a retired carpenter and painter. Josie Ruth has been a school crossing guard at Clearview Elementary for the past nineyears and was previously at Westgate Elementary for 13 years. The Brownings are charter members of Clearview Baptist Church. They have five children, 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The Butlers

Samuel and Loretta Butler of St. Petersburg celebrated their 40th anniversary Nov. 17 by renewing their vows at Bethel Community Baptist Church. They were married May 9, 1950, in Kingstree, S.C., and shortly afterward came to Samuel's native St. Petersburg. The Butlers are active in the The Church of the Living God Worldwide Revival Center, where Samuel is the chief overseer and Loretta is an assistant pastor. Samuel previously worked for Dandee Bakery and the Tramor cafeteria. Loretta works for Coordinating Childcare of St. Petersburg. The Butlers have 10 children, 26 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

The Ennors

Al and Concetta Ennor celebrated their 50th anniversary with a weekend trip to Naples. The Ennors were married Dec. 22, 1940, in Chicago and came here in 1977 from St. Louis. In St. Louis, Al retired from the St. Louis Maintenance Department and Concetta retired from Knapp Monarch. The Ennors attend many activities at the Sunshine Center. They have a daughter and granddaughter.

The Picards

Jean Claude and Rose E. Picard of Pinellas Park celebrated their 25th anniversary with family and friends at a dinner party at Aston's and also took a trip to St. Augustine. The Picards were married Dec. 11, 1965, and came here in 1979. Jean Claude is a social worker at the VA Medical Center at Bay Pines, and Rose is an X-ray technologist at Bayfront Medical Center. The Picards are active in civic organizations. They have two children.

The Wickwires

Norma A. and Clifford R. Wickwire of Inverness, and formerly of St. Petersburg, celebrated their 50th anniversary in Inverness with a family reunion. They were married Dec. 18, 1940, in Missouri and lived here for 35 years before moving to Inverness in 1987. Clifford retired from Sears, Roebuck and Co. He is a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the VFW, and Judith is a member of the ladies auxiliaries of the groups. The Wickwires have two daughters and four grandchildren.
