A Bradenton man wanted in the fatal stabbing of his wife three years ago was seen recently in downtown Tampa, the FBI says. James Edgehill Burnside, who was featured on the America's Most Wanted television program in July 1988, last was seen in mid-March and may be working out of day labor offices in the Tampa Bay area, the FBI said.

Authorities say Burnside followed his 24-year-old wife, Annette Burnside, and her companion, David Otteni, to a Bradenton shopping mall on Feb. 17, 1988.

He shot Otteni in the stomach and then chased his wife across the parking lot and stabbed her numerous times in the chest, authorities said.

Annette Burnside died. Otteni survived.

Burnside is white, 5 feet 11, 190 pounds, with brown hair that is graying and hazel eyes. His tattoos include a flower, dagger, scepter, eagle and butterfly.

He is known to have a violent temper, the FBI said.

Anyone with information should call the FBI at 228-7661 or the Manatee County Sheriff's Office at 747-2677.
