Saint Leo College signs 2 soccer players

Saint Leo College soccer coach Fran Reidy has announced the signing of two players. Scott Bounds, a former goalkeeper for Ridgewood High, will transfer to Saint Leo from Flagler College. Marcello Cracolici played for Orlando-Bishop Moore High this year.

Bounds was an all-state player at Ridgewood in 1989. Cracolici helped Bishop Moore reach the state Class 2A final this year.

Youth baseball: Christopher Miele, 11, of Hudson, threw a no-hitter recently in the Greater Hudson Little League Majors division. Christopher struck out 13 as the Yankees beat the Braves 4-2. Both runs were unearned.

Football: Ridgewood High football coach John Castelamare and two of his former players will speak at Bayonet Point Middle School on Tuesday from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. in the cafeteria. Joining Castelamare will be Jeff Dermer, who will be a junior at Florida State University, and Ken Lowenburg, who will be a freshman next year at Arizona Junior College. Castelamare will also show Ridgewood highlight films.

Golf: Summertree Golf Club and The Links Golf Club will offer something a little bit different this summer. It's junior and adult clinics in conjunction with a family fun league.

The juniors clinic will be conducted each Tuesday from June 18 through Aug. 27 and is free to boys and girls from 9 to 18 years old. Clinics start at noon and last 45 minutes to an hour.

Each junior attending at least seven of the clinics will receive two entries into a drawing for a family membership at Summertree and The Links.

Clinics for adults participating in the league also are free and will be offered each Thursday at 5:45 p.m. from June 20 through Aug. 22.

Juniors and adults may call the Summertree pro shop at (813) 856-0771 or The Links pro shop at (813) 868-1091 for more information.
