A driver and his four passengers were injured Saturday when another car turned into their path. Two of the passengers remained in Bayfront Medical Center late Saturday, one in critical condition. Injured were John O. Cotton, 22; Linda S. Cotton, 36; Margaret A. Cotton, 62; Amy E. Cotton, 4; and Caroline A. McBreen, all of 435 10th Ave. SE.
McBreen was in critical condition Saturday following the 12:45 p.m. collision. Margaret Cotton was reported in stable condition.
The other passengers were treated at Humana Hospital-Northside and released, hospital spokespersons said.
The 1984 Nissan they were riding in west along 54th Avenue N collided with a 1984 Ford driven by Glenn W. Bitko, who was eastbound on 54th Avenue, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Bitko, a Domino pizza deliveryman, turned left into the path of the car driven by Cotton, the Highway Patrol reported. Bitko, 20, 4138 78th St. N, St. Petersburg received minor injuries. He was charged with violation of right of way, a spokeswoman said.
