Five people have been arrested by the Hernando County Sheriff's Office and charged with various crack cocaine offenses. The arrests were made Friday night as part of a two-day operation by law-enforcement agencies in nine west-central counties. More than 400 people were arrested. In Hernando County, James Jones, 27, a welder from Hermitage, Tenn., and Ricky Willis, 36, an ironworker from Nashville, Tenn., were arrested after allegedly buying four pieces of crack cocaine from an undercover deputy, a Sheriff's Office news release said. Alfred Williams, 23, of Brooksville was arrested on a charge of possession of crack cocaine. Regina Smith, 26, also of Brooksville, and an unidentified juvenile from Ridge Manor were arrested on charges of possession and sale of crack after for allegedly selling the drug to an undercover deputy. The juvenile was released to his mother; the other four were booked into the Hernando County jail early Saturday morning.Correction
