A man who said he was beaten up while playing pool in a bar is suing the bar for not protecting him. Walter Lee Bandy filed suit against S & F Liquors in Dade City, contending that the bar was negligent in not protecting him and that it knew "the dangerous nature of the clientele of S & F Lounge and of the previous assaults that had occurred."
Bandy was hit in the head with a pool cue during the fight, causing him to fall to the floor, according to the suit. None of the bar's employees came to help Bandy.
No one from S & F Liquors was available for comment Tuesday.
The suit, filed in Pasco-Pinellas Circuit Court, seeks damages in excess of $10,000. The extent of Bandy's injuries wasn't clear Tuesday.
