One person was killed and another critically injured Tuesday morning when their car pulled into the path of a pickup in East Pasco. Neither the deceased driver nor his passenger was identified by the Florida Highway Patrol by Tuesday night because family members had not been notified.
In an unrelated accident, 42-year-old Frances Alice Smith, address unknown, died after being hit by a truck as she walked across U.S. 19 on Monday night.
According to the report, she was struck about 500 feet south of Darlington Road as she tried to cross from the west side of the highway to the east side of the southbound lanes at 9:35 p.m.
The driver of the Ford Bronco, Timothy Grahovak of Holiday, was not cited, according to an FHP spokeswoman.
In Tuesday's collision, a Chevy pickup driven by John Henry Myrick, 59, of Old Trilby Road crashed into the passenger side of the compact car driven by the now-deceased man.
According to the report, the car was traveling south on County Road 575 at the County Road 41 intersection when it crossed the path of Myrick's truck, which was eastbound on County Road 41.
A passenger in the car was flown by helicopter to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa shortly after the 8:50 a.m. collision, the highway patrol reported.
