Officers of the Moon Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 7845 and the Ladies Auxiliary have been installed for the 1991-92 year. Willis Everett will lead activities of the post as commander; Ray Mayer, senior vice commander; John Iavarone, junior vice commander; Jules Bradle, adjutant; Jack Erisman, quartermaster; Raul Noriega, judge advocate; George Goughf, surgeon; James Thayer, chaplain; and Charles Bolduc, John McMahon and Eric Hode, trustees.
George Goughf Jr. is guard; Paul Rice, officer of the day; and Kenneth Cook, historian.
The post meets at 7 p.m. the third Monday of the month at the Moon Lake Civic Association clubhouse.
Mary Mayer is president of the Ladies Auxiliary. Other officers are Pauline Everett, senior vice president; Helen Burbank, junior vice president; Hope Velico, treasurer; Aida Noriega, secretary; Helen Stricterman, chaplain; Evelyn Cook, conductress; Gwen Balduc, guard; Cecelia Kranmas, patriotic instructor; and Anna Ruppert, Alice Gavrilovich and Jane Yaden, trustees.
Edye Burrough served as installing officer for the auxiliary, which meets at 7 p.m. the second Monday of the month at the Moon Lake Civic Center, 9726 Moon Lake Road, New Port Richey.
Holiday Kiwanis presents scholarships
Ernest G. Cole, past president of the Kiwanis Club of Holiday, and Dave Williams, treasurer, presented scholarships of $500 each to Gulf High School students Amy Susanna Hall, Laura Jeanne Munz and Maryann Pendergast.
The Kiwanis Club will meet for breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the Jolly Greek Restaurant, Alt. U.S. 19, Holiday.
At a recent meeting, Sgt. Jim Driscoll of the Pasco County Sheriff's Office introduced Rita Galloway, secretary of the Community Liaison Division, who was named Civilian Employee of the Month.
Dave Neal, Kiwanis president, presented her a plaque for her accomplishments.
