A 57-year-old man is accused of growing marijuana plants in his apartment. Frank Anthony Tiera of Tarpon Springs is charged with cultivation and possession of marijuana and with possession of cocaine and paraphernalia, said Bud Rubio, spokesman for the Tarpon Springs Police Department.
Tiera had 15 marijuana plants, some 5 feet tall, growing in flower pots in his bedroom, Rubio said. Police also found 10.5 grams of cocaine in Tiera's home, Rubio said.
An anonymous tip over a public telephone line (586-DOPE) led police to Tiera, Rubio said.
Tiera, of 610 S Florida Ave. Apt. 301, was arrested Tuesday night, Rubio said. He was being held at the Pinellas County Jail on Wednesday in lieu of $20,500 bail, a jail spokeswoman said.
