Operation Desert Storm

Navy Airman Apprentice Daniel D. Gordon recently returned from deployment to the Middle East in support of Operation Desert Storm while serving with Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron-137, Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Oak Harbor, Wash. Gordon, son of Daniel D. and Lois A. Gordon of Tampa, is a 1988 graduate of Brandon High School. Marine Staff Sgt. James E. Jackson recently returned from deployment to the Middle East in support of Operation Desert Storm while serving with 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, N.C. Jackson is the son of James R. Asbel of Tampa.

Marine Lance Cpl. Nick A. McKinnon recently returned from deployment to the Middle East in support of Operation Desert Storm while serving with the 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, N.C. McKinnon, son of Deloris McKinnon of Tampa, is a 1987 graduate of Armwood High School.

Navy Seaman Vincent Munoz recently returned from deployment to the Middle East in support of Operation Desert Storm while serving aboard the guided missile cruiser USS Philippine Sea, whose home port is Mayport. Munoz is the son of Oliverio Munoz and Blanca A. Garcia of Tampa.

Marine Lance Cpl. Henry Smiley recently returned from deployment to the Middle East in support of Operation Desert Storm while serving with 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, N.C. Smiley, son of Betty S. Smiley of Tampa, is a 1988 graduate of Brandon High School.

Courses, training completed

Marine Cpl. Theodore R. Bothur recently completed the Noncommissioned Officer Leadership Course, conducted at Marine Corps Combat Development Command, Officer Candidates School, Quantico, Va. Bothur, son of Rochetta Gliha of Tampa, is a 1981 graduate of Chamberlain High School.

Navy Seaman Recruit Gerald E. Germino has completed recruit training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Germino, whose wife Gabriela is daughter of Ricardo and Teresa Rodriguez of Tampa, is a 1988 graduate of Hillsborough High School.

Re-enlistment

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Cheryl J. Butler, has re-enlisted for three years while serving aboard the destroyer tender USS Yosemite, whose home port is Mayport. Butler, whose husband, William, is the son of Margret J. and William J. Butler of Tampa, is a 1979 graduate of Monroe High School in Albany, Ga.
