Hope and Michael, don't pack that Cuisinart: thirtysomething will live, if only as a TV movie. The yuppie drama series depicting life according to Hope, Michael, Nancy and Elliot was canceled two weeks ago, but ABC entertainment President Robert Iger has given the go-ahead for a two-hour television film.
The movie will tie up some loose ends left hanging by Iger's abrupt cancellation of the 4-year-old series.
MGM-UA Television spokesman Kim Reed said he did not know when the movie would be made or what it would be about. His studio produced the acclaimed series.
Iger turned down the studio's pitch to film 13 more episodes for next year's midseason. The program, beloved by critics and a small but loyal viewing audience, was awarded 10 Emmys, including one for best dramatic series.
