Guy R. Campbell, a former Redington Beach town commissioner and vice mayor, died Wednesday (June 5, 1991) at Edward White Hospital, St. Petersburg. He was 80. He died of a lung disease, his son, Ned, said Thursday.
A retired Coca Cola bottler, he retired here in 1959 from Salina, Kan., and served on the town commission from 1965 to 1970 The last two years he served as vice mayor, his family said.
Guy Reeder Campbell was born in Chattanooga, Tenn. He was a graduate of Wichita State University and a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity. In Salina, he was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Isis Temple.
Locally, he was a member of the Boca Ciega Power Squadron and Pasadena Community Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary D.; two sons, Capt. Guy R. III, Charleston, S.C., and Ned D., Tallahassee; a brother, Phil M., Longmont, Colo.; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
A service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kenfield-Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 Pasadena Ave. S, St. Petersburg. The Rev. Wayne S. Madden will officiate.
