Transient gets life sentence

A transient was found guilty Thursday night of first-degree murder in the stabbing death of a 62-year-old Pinellas Park man. David Keith Jones was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 25 years, said prosecutor Robert Heyman.

Jones was arrested about a month after the body of Frank Clabeaux was found in Clabeaux's mobile home at 6083 105th Terr. N in December 1988. Police said Clabeaux picked up Jones on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg, took him home and gave him money to buy cocaine. Jones said he stabbed Clabeaux after Clabeaux made a sexual advance toward him.
