The new span of the Howard Frankland Bridge will be dedicated July 20 with a five-kilometer run and walk, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The run and walk will begin at 8 a.m. Dedication ceremonies will follow at 10 a.m. Parking will be available at Derby Lane in St. Petersburg and at West Shore Mall in Tampa.
Shuttle buses will run from 5:30 a.m. until all spectators are off the bridge. Registration for the run is $12 until July 13 and $15 after that. Entry forms are available at area Foot Locker stores.
Runners and walkers will receive a T-shirt, and those who cross the finish line will get a commemorative medal.
The "Run to Bridge the Bay" is sponsored by the St. Petersburg and Greater Tampa Chambers of Commerce and GTE.
