Stolen flag leads to arrest

PORT RICHEY _ A man walking down the street with a flag was arrested by a Port Richey police officer after the officer determined that the flag was stolen.

Augustine Dellaport, 36, of 5718 Quist Drive in Port Richey, was charged with theft, a Port Richey police report stated.

The officer apparently saw Dellaport walking north along U.S. 19 early Saturday morning carrying a flag with "Welcome" on it, similar to the flags at Better Used Cars, 7933 U.S. 19, the report stated. When the officer asked Dellaport if the flag was his, he told the officer he wanted it for his brother. The officer later found out that the flag was stolen from the car lot.

Dellaport was taken to the West Pasco Detention Center.
