The Tampa Bay Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists presented its annual Awards of Excellence on Saturday night to reporters and photographers from local newspapers and radio and television stations. The St. Petersburg Times led the winners in the newspaper category, taking eight of the 11 awards. In the television category, WTSP-Ch. 10 won seven of the 17 awards and WFLA-Ch. 8 won six.
