Linda McFarland, special representative in Hudson for The Franklin, Springfield, Ill., has earned one of the company's top agency building honors, the Franklin Circle of Champions Club. The club is a national honor organization of the company's most successful managers. Her qualification was based on outstanding recruiting activity during April. Founded in 1884, The Franklin has 3,000 sales associates serving approximately 1-million policy owners throughout the United States.Briefly

The Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Zephyrhills had its grand opening recently, featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony by owners Kelly Graham and Dan Douglass. Douglass is the Tampa Bay area franchiser of Fred Astaire Dance Studios. The dance studio is in the Zephyrhills Plaza at 36504 State Road 54 W.

The Neuropsychiatric Pain Rehabilitation Clinic, 5330 George St., New Port Richey, recently underwent a survey by a national committee to continue the program accreditation in chronic pain management. The facility successfully met the high standards of performance required to receive the three-year maximum accreditation allowed by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. The accreditation is necessary in Florida and required by law for providers of chronic pain treatment to maintain state licensure to provide rehabilitation. Clinic director, Dr. Otsenre E. Matos, recently completed the 1991 certification course in electroconvulsive therapy. The course was held in New York City with faculty from Duke, Harvard and Columbia universities. Matos is an established psychiatrist and has practiced in New Port Richey for 14 years. He is chairman of the department of psychiatry at Mease Hospital. Staff member Constance J. Porter received her biofeedback certification from the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America. Porter earned her bachelor's degree in psychology and now is working on her master's degree. She is a behavioral therapist and director of biofeedback and stress management services at the clinic.
