Authorities made several arrests over the weekend in northwest Hillsborough on charges related to selling or serving alcohol to minors, Hillsborough sheriff's officials said. Eight of the arrests came late Thursday at the Sidelines Sports Emporium, 11425 N Dale Mabry Highway, records show. Officials said alcohol was served to teen-agers as young as 15. On Friday and Saturday, patrols using high school students as confidential informants made another 11 arrests at convenience stores and gas stations, records show.Brandon man killed in auto accident
TAMPA _ A 20-year-old Brandon man was killed when he turned his car in front of an oncoming flatbed truck on State Road 60 at 7:40 a.m. Monday. Charles Douglas Bradshaw, of 306 King's Court Apt. 138, was killed when he tried to turn north onto Sydney Washer Road, Hillsborough sheriff's officials said. Bradshaw's 1981 Datsun 310 was broadsided by a truck driven by William Kennedy Grimmer Jr., 25, of Plant City. Bradshaw was not wearing a seat belt, officials said. Grimmer was not seriously injured.
