County officials decided Tuesday to ask a judge to reconsider his ruling against Hillsborough's adult entertainment rules. The motion also asks Hillsborough Circuit Judge Richard Lazzara to stay his decision and prevent nude dance club owner Joe Redner from opening Mons II in Brandon until the case is resolved, County Attorney Emeline Acton said. The motion points to evidence the county says the judge missed when he made the ruling. Redner said Tuesday he would wait for a final ruling before trying to open Mons II.Couple accused of fraud
TAMPA _ A Tampa couple who ran a consignment sale business for estate furniture was charged Tuesday with fraud and grand theft. Ronald J. Kopasz, 43, and Patricia L. Kopasz, 40, of 3802 Palmira St., operated Executor Estate Sales Inc. at the same address. Each is charged with organized fraud, three counts of second-degree grand theft and nine counts of third-degree grand theft. They were being held on $49,000 bail each at Hillsborough County Jail on Tuesday. According to the Hillsborough State Attorney's Office, the Kopaszes solicited furniture, antiques and other goods and offered to sell the items for a percentage of the sales price. But many of the people who took up the offer never received proceeds, or their furniture back, according to prosecutors.
