ANNIVERSARIES

The Atkinsons Dr. Lowell M. and Wilhelmina Atkinson of Forest Hills celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary May 21. They were married by his father, the Rev. Walter F. Atkinson, in Wesley Methodist Church.

Their daughter, Lynne van Es Grabill, lives in Camano Island, Wash.

Atkinson retired in 1976 after 43 years in the ministry. He is a member of the Northern New Jersey Conference of the United Methodist Church. He teaches the Christian Life Bible Class at the First United Methodist Church in Tarpon Springs. He is listed in "Who's Who in Methodism," has attended five World Methodist conferences and preached at 27 overseas missions. He has written for publications and has published a book titled Apples of Gold, now in its second printing. Mrs. Atkinson was a secretary on Wall Street, and worked for the Edgewood Arsenal, the YMCA, the YWCA, the public schools and a law office.

Atkinson is a photographer and gives slide programs drawn from his world travels. Recently he has been presenting a program on "Birds of the Florida Suncoast."

The Bergemanns

HOLIDAY _ John and Lorraine Bergemann celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 30.

They were married May 30, 1941, at St. Therese Roman Catholic Church in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Their children hosted a surprise dinner-cruise for them aboard the Admiral out of Clearwater in celebration of their anniversary. Their son John lives in Long Beach, N.Y., a daughter, Jill, lives in Baldwin, N.Y., and another daughter, Tracy, lives in Rockville Center, N.Y.

Among the 38 guests were four grandchildren, Courtney, 14, Chad, 10, Craig, 6 and Caitlin, 6. Also attending were his brother Bill Bergemann of Holiday Lake Estates and her brother Joe and his wife Betty from New Port Richey and friends from Bangor, Maine, Sarasota and Indiana.

Before he retired in 1980, Bergemann was employed for 46 years by Consolidated Edison Company of New York.

They are taking a seven-day cruise on the SS Meridian.
