School Board approves new district boundaries

The Pinellas School Board approved new district boundaries Wednesday that balance the number of residents in each board member's area. The new boundaries also put Lee Benjamin back in the district he was elected to represent. Board members are voted on countywide but must live in certain geographic areas. Historically, the School Board and the County Commission have used the same district boundaries, but when the commission changed the lines recently, it threw Benjamin into the same district as board member Corinne Freeman.
