A little boy who tried to entice President Bush off a stage got a presidential reward Monday: a tieclip and a hug.
As Bush was being introduced for a speech to a conference called "Healthy Children, Ready to Learn," 5-year-old Ezra Adkins of Huntington, W.Va., kept motioning to the president to join him in the audience. Bush was seen shaking his head and mouthing something like "I can't."
Speech over, Bush told the audience what had happened, then invited young Ezra to come up. The president put him on his lap, gave him a hug and pinned the clip to his shirt.
The youngster is afflicted with spina bifida, an anomaly of the spine.
