Update on North Suncoast men

and women in college basketball,

with all available statistics:

Pam Conk

F, 5-9, Sr., Randolph-Macon (Springstead)

After missing seven games due to injuries, Conk came back last week and picked up where she left off. The senior scored a school-record 37 points, including the game-winning basket, as Randolph-Macon defeated Eastern Menonite, 79-77, on Saturday. For the week, Conk scored 77 points in three games as the Jackets went 1-2.

Season stats: 12 games, 12 starts; averaging 24.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 2.2 steals, 1.6 blocks; 47.6 FG% (110-229), 79.8 FT% (67-84).

James Eason

F, 6-5, 195, Fr., North Florida J.C. (Crystal River)

Eason started both of NFJC's games last week and grabbed a total of 16 rebounds. Despite his efforts, NFJC lost to Pensacola C.C., 107-84, and Tallahassee C.C., 102-89. This week, NFJC plays Gulf Coast C.C Thursday and Chipola, the top-ranked junior college in the state, on Saturday.

Season stats: 24 games, 9 starts; averaging 8.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 2.0 blocks, 0.4 steals; 56.2 FG% (77-137), 100.0 3FG% (1-1), 54.3 FT% (38-70).

James Mullady

G, 6-2, 180, Soph., Minnesota-Morris (Springstead)

Mullady scored 36 points in a pair of losses this week. Morris will play rival Minn.-Duluth Friday and Bimidji (Minn.) State Saturday.

Season stats: 24 games, 22 starts; averaging 16.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.1 steals, 0.1 blocks; 47.3 FG% (139-294), 43.7 3FG% (52-119), 70.6 FT% (60-85).

Angelo Nelson

F, 6-6, 210, Fr., North Florida J.C. (Crystal River)

Nelson started both of NFJC's losses this week. The freshman scored 13 points and pulled down eight rebounds against Pensacola C.C. He saw limited playing time against Tallahassee because of a stomach flu.

Season stats: 19 games, 3 starts; averaging 3.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.7 blocks, 0.5 steals; 49.3 FG% (33-67); 53.3 FT% (8-15).

Kristi Poore

F, 5-10, 165, Jr., South Florida (Hernando)

Poore had six points and six rebounds Monday as USF lost to Southern Mississippi, 66-57. The Bulls (12-8 overall, 3-4 Metro Conference) play Saturday at Tulane and Monday at Southern Mississippi.

Season stats: 20 games, 20 starts; averaging 7.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 2.1 steals, 0.1 blocks; 48.6 FG% (51-105), 65.4 FT% (51-78).

Jason Sartor

F/G, 6-6, 205, Soph., Saint Leo (Hernando)

Sartor scored 14 points and had seven rebounds Saturday in Saint Leo's 71-69 loss to Florida Tech. He missed a three-point shot at the buzzer that could have broken Saint Leo's six-game Sunshine State Conference losing streak, but the Monarchs instead dropped to 0-7 in the league. Saint Leo faces Tampa at home tonight.

Season stats: 21 games, 21 starts; averaging 12.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.3 steals, 0.1 blocks; 50.7 FG% (104-205), 42.1 3FG% (8-19), 63.8 FT% (44-69).

Luke Simmons

G, 6-3, 180, Soph., North Florida J.C. (Citrus)

Simmons had 12 points, all coming on four three-pointers, as well as three assists and four steals against Tallahassee C.C. this week. He turned an ankle against Pensacola, and only had four points. He leads NFJC (2-23) in three-point shooting and assists.

Season stats: 23 games, 14 starts; averaging 7.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.2 steals, 0.3 blocks; 41.7 FG% (35-84), 48.0 3FG% (24-50), 77.4 FT% (24-31).

Sharon Washington

G, 5-2, 125, Fr., Coppin State (Hernando)

The Eagles (10-13 overall, 6-5 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) split two games last week, but Washington did not play in either one. Coppin State faces South Carolina State, another MEAC foe, on Thursday.

Season stats: 7 games, 0 starts; averaging 0.6 points, 0.3 rebounds, 0.3 assists; 20.0 FG% (1-5), 50.0 FT% (2-4).
