Junior Woman's Club installs new president

Ellie Paladine has been installed as president of the West Pasco Junior Woman's Club for 1992.

Other officers are Beth Gill, first vice president; Janice Thompson, second vice president; Cindy Lillo, secretary; and Roxann Mayros, treasurer.

The Juniors meet at 7:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at Peace Lutheran Church in Holiday.

Nutrition volunteers honored

Volunteers of the Pasco County Elderly Nutrition Program will be honoerd during festivities Thursday at the Fivay Recreation Complex in Hudson.

Activities are planned from 9:309 to 1:30 p.m. including a luncheon.

This year, more than 230 volunteers will be recognized for their continued support of the lunch bunch and work in various aspects of the program.

Annually, a Volunteer of the Year is selected from each site and is presented a special gift.

Members of the Non-Commissioned Officers Association color guard will present colors.

The Lesiurettes of Leisure Beach will entertain.

The Pasco County Elderly Nutrition Progam has been serving meals to people over 60, both at the congregate sites and home delivered meals, since 1976. Volunteers have played an important part in the program.

Claude Pepper Center: anniversary

The CARES Claude Pepper Center, 6640 Van Buren St., New Port Richey, will celebrate its first anniversary Friday.

The public celebration will start at 12:30 p.m. with the crowning of a King and Queen of Hearts, who will reign over the festivities.

Strings and Strutters in full costume will present a program of songs and dances.

The center is a dual-purpose facility of Community Aging and Retirement Services.

The Adult Day Center program is a service to meet the needs of adults who are 60 and older who need supervision or those who would be home alone every day. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The program provides caregivers respite from the daily care of a family member.

The Senior Center offers a variety of classes and activities for active elderly in the community.

Sorority: Valentine Queen

Xi Lambda Delta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority will crown Michelle Lundgren as Valentine Queen at a cocktail party at 8 p.m. Friday at the Sea Pines Civic Center, Hudson.

Mrs. Lundgren has been a member of the sorority since 1987. She and her husband Thomas and their two children, Alex and Timmy, live in Holiday.

She is serving as an extension officer for the chapter.
