Tampa used a pair of big second-half runs to crush Saint Leo 98-69 Wednesday night in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) and end a three-game losing streak.
DeCarlo Deveaux scored 23 points and Mike Rouse had five steals and 11 assists as seven Spartans scored eight or more points.
Rouse also held Saint Leo's Tyrone Graves to seven points, 15 below his average.
"Mike Rouse did a super job on Graves tonight," said Tampa coach Richard Schmidt.
Saint Leo (6-16, 0-8) led only once and trailed at halftime 44-38. The Monarchs got to within 49-45 early in the second half before a 13-2 run by the Spartans (17-4, 4-4) put the game out of reach.
Tritons win, take over lead in SSC
ST. PETERSBURG _ Gerard Joseph scored 18 of his 20 points in the second half to lead Eckerd to a 92-82 win over Florida Tech.
With the win, Eckerd (6-1, 15-4) moved into first place in the Sunshine State Conference. Florida Tech (4-4, 13-10) is the only SSC opponent to beat Eckerd this season.
Eckerd replaced Rollins (6-2, 18-5) in the top spot after the Tars lost 78-70 in overtime to Florida Southern (5-3, 18-7) Wednesday.
Vic Stephens had game-high totals in points (22) and rebounds (10) for the Tritons.
The win was the 350th at Eckerd for coach Jim Harley.
