A landlord filed suit Thursday against Creative Kids Learning Center, alleging that the Crystal River day-care center is $14,000 behind in rent, taxes and other fees. Creative Kids has neglected to pay its $1,854.88 monthly rent since July, and the company has not paid $786 in property taxes and $357 in insurance, according to the suit by Tamposi Family Investment Properties, which owns the building on N Holiday Drive. The Tamposi company unsuccessfully tried to settle the problem out of court, said attorney Eric D. Abel. Creative Kids is licensed to care for as many as 75 children from infants to 12-year-olds, according to the state Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services. An official at Creative Kids did not return a telephone call Thursday. The company started leasing space from the Tamposi company in October 1988, the suit said. The Tamposi company, based in New Hampshire, recently filed for protection from creditors under the federal bankruptcy code.
