Science museum offers sweet deal

The Museum of Science & Industry is offering special discounts for Valentine's Day, including two-for-one admission (of equal or greater value only) today through Sunday.

Admission to the museum's GTE Challenger Learning Center, a simulated shuttle mission, is free from 6 to 9 p.m. today and Saturday.

The cost will be $1 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Presentations in the portable Starlab planetarium are free from 6 to 9 p.m. today and Saturday and $1 from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Free stargazing through the museum's telescope is available from 8 to 9 p.m. today and Saturday.

Other discounts include 10 percent off museum memberships and 50 percent off "Hearts" in the Science Store.

The museum's current featured exhibit is "BodyTech _ The Science Behind Medicine."

The museum is at 4801 E Fowler Ave. in Tampa. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Admission is $5.50 for adults, $4.50 for Florida residents, and $2 for children ages 3 to 15 (children under 3 are free).
