Chamberlain beat Leto 3-1 in overtime for the Class 4A, District 6 championship Friday.
The Chiefs (16-1-1) won their first district title in 10 years when Scott Pearson and Chris Kidder scored late in overtime. Chamberlain faces Bloomingdale in the 4A-Region III game Tuesday.
Chamberlain's Juan Panesso, who scored 31 goals this season, did not get a shot against the tight-marking Falcons (13-6-2). An aggressive Leto offense outshot the the Chiefs 6-3 in regulation.
The first half was scoreless, but Chamberlain's Chris Turbe scored from 10 yards out 7:25 into the second half. Leto's Chris Labadie evened the score 14 minutes later.
Bloomingdale romps by
Lakeland in 4A-District 5
WINTER HAVEN _ Bloomingdale scored early and often and routed Lakeland 8-1 for the Class 4A, District 5 crown.
Andy Laverghetta scored twice and Oscar Barnes, Tim Corbin, Jason White, Rob Heald and Ryan Olinger also scored to give the Bulls (18-1-1) a 7-0 lead at halftime.
White scored again in the second half.
Bloomingdale, which has won 18 consecutive games and is ranked No.
4 in the 4A state poll, will play at No.
8 Chamberlain (16-1-1) in the Region III game at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
The Bulls handed the Chiefs their only loss and tie this season, but shared the Western Conference American Division championship with them.
Berkeley takes 2A-8
final 2-1 over Lecanto
TAMPA _ Max Edward's goal on a penalty kick in the fourth overtime period sent Berkeley Prep to a 2-1 win over Lecanto in the Class 2A, District 8 boys soccer final.
The penalty kick resulted when Bucs midfielder Michael Germain was taken down by Paul Misciagno just after he entered the penalty area.
Berkeley Prep (16-4-1) had a number of opportunities to score in the overtime periods, but Panthers goalie Mark Mohrmann turned away shots time after time.
Lecanto (15-4-1) opened the scoring at the 9:00 mark of the first half on an unassisted goal by Jeff Dufresne. Bucs goalie Matthew Hill was anticipating a header from Brian Bova off Dufresne's shot, but Bova missed and Hill couldn't recover.
Jesuit beats Tarpon
2-1 for 3A-10 crown
TARPON SPRINGS _ Jesuit defeated Tarpon Springs 2-1 on a late goal by Brian Zellner in the Class 3A, District 10 final.
The Tigers advanced to the 3A-Region V game at Ridgewood on Tuesday.
The Tigers (15-5-4) scored first, but the Spongers (6-8-3) evened the score when Bryan Wolff laid a shot past goalkeeper Eric Sims with 2:31 left in the first half.
