Magic Lamp Children's Theater to present Kipling classic

The Magic Lamp Children's Theater directed by Nancy Wetmore will present Rudyard Kipling's classic Nikki-Tikki-Tavi at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Magic Lamp Theatre, 5734 Missouri Ave., New Port Richey.

The cast features Corey Cox, Jeff Conway, Courtney Vlastnik, Evan Turner, Crystal Watson, Stacey Sesto, Matthew Delaquil and Kendall Sellers.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $2.50 for children under 13.

Proceeds will be used to produce future productions. Call (813) 848-4747 for information and reservations. Seating is limited. A few tickets will be available at the door.

Garden club: public fashion show

The Garden Club of Hacienda Village will sponsor a fashion show at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the recreation center, Granada Avenue in New Port Richey.

Helen Bigner is general chairwoman and official photographer.

A Valentine's theme will be used in decorations by Dolly Meyers, Eleanor Yarling and Ruth Breit.

Doris Wilton is in charge of seating arrangements and Marie Porter, refreshments.

Styles will be provided by Denise's Clothes Corner of Boca Raton. Denise Kelley is the fashion consultant. Garden Club members who will model are Mildred King, Lorene Brooks, Barbara Gorman, Carol Spencer, Audrey Domostoy and Myra Hlady.

Henry and Fred Bigner will be escorts for the models.

Tickets are $1 a person and are available by calling ticket chairwoman Jean McEvoy, (813) 848-4494. Jean Joffe, Ruth Bigner, Marie George and Sadie Hopkins also are selling tickets.

TOPs and KOPs: award losers

TOPs Fl 242 of New Port Richey and KOPs Alumni will present awards at the ninth annual Awards Banquet Sunday at the Sheraton Inn, U.S. 19, New Port Richey.

Dinner will be served at 1 p.m. and will be followed by the awards program.

The best weight losers for 1991 are Penny Coleman, Jean Van Duesen, Reyne Risseeuw, Evelyn Mitchell, Natalie Larkins and Wanda Bezen.

KOPs Alumni, who have reached their weight goal and kept their status for one or more years, are Ruth Reed, Veda Parmenter, George Parmenter, Phyllis Dreher, Eleanor Kozak, Josephine Dub, Mary Jean Christ, Lucille Hake, Helma Stuart, Edna Carlisle, Eleanor Cooper, Leota Huffman and Anna Stevens.

Marco Mendez of the Fletcher Music Shop will provide entertainment.

Santa Lucia Dancers

The Santa Lucia Dancers of the United Italian American Club of New Port Richey will sing and dance at 2 p.m. Monday at the Orchard Ridge Nursing Center, 4927 Voorhees Road, New Port Richey.

The 24-member group was founded 10 years ago by Antoinetta Carcich. They visit nursing homes in Pasco County to entertain.
