St. John's Episcopal offers concert of organ music

Michael Kaminski will present an organ concert at 5 p.m. Feb. 23 at St. John's Episcopal Church as part of the church's 1991-92 music series. The program will include Louis Vierne's Symphony II and compositions by Charles-Marie Widor.

Kaminski is director of music ministries and organist at St. Francis Xavier Church and assistant organist at Our Lady of Angels Church, both in Brooklyn, N.Y. He is a member of the faculties of the Brooklyn Conservatory and the New York School of Liturgical Music. Kaminski received his bachelor and master of music degrees from the Juilliard School and his doctorate of musical arts degree from the Catholic University of America.

A nursery will be provided for the concert, and an offering will be taken. St. John's is at 906 S Orleans Ave. For information, call 259-1570.

Nativity Catholic

The St. Francis DeSales Choir of New Orleans will present a gospel music concert at 7:30 p.m. today at the Church of the Nativity, 705 E Brandon Blvd. The concert is being sponsored by the Diocese of St. Petersburg Office for Black Catholic Ministries and Blacks in Christ of the Church of the Nativity. Tickets are $4 and are available at the Ave Maria Bookstore, 815 E Brandon Blvd.
