Working on the boardwalk

The wear and tear of the sun and rain have taken ther toll on the boardwalks at John Chesnut Sr. Park, causing dry rot and requiring replacement. The maintenance crew is nearing the end of the walk that leads to the lookout tower and Lake Tarpon. When finished, there will be about 2,000 boards. The pressure-treated wood is attached to the original stringers with fresh tarpaper to protect the stringers from rainwater.
