Tampa teen-ager charged in stabbing

A 16-year-old Tampa boy was charged with attempted murder Saturday in the stabbing of a 17-year-old girl, police said. Tampa Officer Barbara Driscoll said the teen was visiting the couple's child at her home on Grove Street when the stabbing occurred. According to police, he became irate when she asked him to leave and stabbed her in the back, chest and arms. The girl was in guarded condition at St. Joseph's Hospital on Saturday night. The boy, who is not being identified because he is a juvenile, was arrested Saturday afternoon at 34th Street and Osborne Avenue.

Man on motorcycle injured in crash

TAMPA _ A Lutz man was critically injured Saturday night after losing control of his motorcycle on N Dale Mabry Highway, south of Interstate 275, police said. Mark Puhlick, 37, of 17915 U.S. 41 in Lutz, lost control of the motorcycle after hitting a median, Tampa police Lt. Nelson Horne said. Puhlick was southbound on the inside lane of N Dale Mabry just after 7 p.m. when he changed lanes but failed to see a median that ended the lane, Horne said. The motorcycle skidded 160 feet, officials said.
