Hernando students honored for improvement in reading

Thirty-six students in the Hernando County school system were honored Thursday night for their outstanding improvement in reading.

Each award recipient received a certificate and a gift provided by the Hernando County Education Foundation.

The banquet, held in connection with Literacy Week, was at Parrott Middle School. The guest speaker was Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive lineman Charles McRae.

Award winners included:
