A Dunnellon man was arrested Saturday after an incident in which he injured his grandmother and was turned in by his mother and uncle. Walter Clifton Hill, 34, of 3560 W Ivy Lane, was charged with battery, breach of the peace and resisting an officer without violence at his mother's home at 3467 W Cyprus Drive, Dunnellon. According to the arrest report, Hill came home intoxicated and pounded on the door and windows. His mother, Delores J. York, refused to let him in, but then relented. When Hill entered the house, he got into a confrontation with his grandmother, Louise Dees, 69, twisting her wrist and causing it to swell and bruise. When Hill was taken into custody, he threatened to kick out the windows of the Citrus County Sheriff's Department squad car and did kick the inside of the door.
causes power outage
Approximately four dozen residences in Crystal River were without power for nearly two hours Sunday morning. Florida Power first received calls from customers who had lost their power at 8 a.m. According to engineering representative Terry Bishop, a squirrel chewed on a line, causing it to burn. Jacobs said 47 customers in the Florida Power area lost their service. Repairmen spliced the wire, restoring service shortly before 10 a.m., Bishop said. Scott Farmer of the Citrus County Sheriff's Office estimates the office received 110 calls about the power outage.
