Florida State Fair officials reported the highest attendance ever at the 88th State Fair. Nearly 1-million visitors _ 924,556, to be exact _ came to East Hillsborough for the 12-day fair, which ended Sunday. The attendance was a 10.88 percent increase over last year, officials said. The previous record was set in 1989, when 876,934 people attended. Ticket sales in the midway were up by 22.73 percent over last year, said Frank Ross, the fair's executive director, and midway revenues increased by about $1-million.
