COLLEGE UPDATE

An update on North Suncoast men and women in college basketball, with all available statistics:

Pam Conk

F, 5-9, Sr., Randolph-Macon (Springstead)

The senior scored 20 points Saturday in a 70-58 loss to Catholic (D.C.) University, including going 16-for-19 from the free throw line. She had a total of 43 points and 22 rebounds in three games this week as the NCAA Division III school went 1-2.

Season stats: 15 games, 15 starts; averaging 22.1 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 2.3 steals, 1.3 blocks; 46.5 FG percentage (120-258), 80.4 FT% (90-112).

Don Diedrick

F, 6-6, 205, Jr., Webber College (Springstead)

Diedrick had a hot shooting week, going 15-for-22 from the floor as Webber (15-13) split its two games. He had 18 points on 7-for-10 shooting Friday as Webber beat Nova 86-78 in overtime. Saturday, in an 81-77 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic, the junior shot 8-for-12 en route to 16 points.

Season stats: 27 games, 27 starts; averaging 14.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.0 steals, 0.9 blocks; 55.5 FG% (156-281), 72.7 FT% (56-77).

Ryan O'Connell

G, 6-1, 170, Soph., Webber College (Springstead)

O'Connell scored 12 points, all on three-pointers, and four assists in Saturday's loss to Palm Beach Atlantic. He shot 7-for-18 (38.9 percent) from the three-point stripe in Webber's two games last week.

Season stats: 28 games, 28 starts; averaging 7.7 points, 1.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.0 steals; 33.5 FG% (58-173), 39.1 3FG% (54-138), 81.1 FT% (30-37).

Kristi Poore

F, 5-10, 165, Jr., South Florida (Hernando)

Poore had eight points and 14 rebounds (eight offensive) in Saturday's 67-64 Metro Conference loss to Virginia Tech. The junior also had two assists and one steal as USF dropped its third straight conference game. The Bulls (12-10, 3-5) now face a three-game conference road trip, starting Saturday at Tulane.

Season stats: 22 games, 22 starts; averaging 7.6 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 2.0 steals, 0.1 blocks; 45.5 FG% (55-121), 67.4 FT% (58-86).

Jason Sartor

F/G, 6-6, 205, Soph., Saint Leo (Hernando)

The sophomore has become one of Saint Leo's top scoring and rebounding threats. Sartor scored 23 points and had eight rebounds Saturday as the Monarchs won their first Sunshine State Conference game of the year, defeating then-conference leader Eckerd 93-92. He shot 15-for-23 on the week as Saint Leo split its two games, including a 98-69 loss to Tampa. Sartor had 11 points in 38 minutes against the Spartans.

Season stats: 25 games, 25 starts; averaging 12.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.3 steals, 0.1 blocks; 52.1 FG% (119-228), 40.0 3FG% (10-25), 64.8 FT% (46-71).
