City consultants will be looking for suggestions as they study the impact of the Drew Street widening project on the environment and residents. Representatives from Post, Buckley, Schuh and Jernigan said a draft of their study should be completed in March.
A public workshop will be held in September, and a public hearing will be held in April 1993. They said they will notify property owners within 300 feet of the street, as well as other people who have expressed interest in the project.
The city's part of the widening project stretches from N Fort Harrison to NE Coachman Road. Public works director Bill Baker said the city hopes the road can be widened to five lanes, not seven. Representatives said it would be at least six and a half years before the project is complete. When the project is finished, Drew Street will be widened from Fort Harrison to Bayshore Boulevard.
