Jesuit Tigers

Last year: 23-7 Class 3A, District 10

Coach: John Crumbley, eighth year.

Assistants: Lennie Perez, John Canfield, Scott Maciejewski, Charlie Yingling, Steve Morgan.

Classification: Class 3A, District 10.

Nickname: Tigers.

Stadium: Paul Straub Field, 4701 N Himes Ave.

Record: 23-7. Lost in the district final.

Key players: Troy Kent (shortstop, pitcher), Dean Kent (first base, outfield), Alain Rodriguez (second base), Troy Carrasco (pitcher, first base), Steve DeBoskey (outfield, DH), Brian Parker (catcher), John Pestalozzi (pitcher, infield), Dennis Machado (catcher, third base), Rick Gonzalez (pitcher, second base), Craig Brown (pitcher).

Strengths: Five pitchers return with varsity experience, and the Tigers are very talented offensively. Also, Crumbley said that both Troy and Dean Kent should be draft picks this year.

Weaknesses: Although the pitching experience is there, Jesuit lost eight senior position players from last year. Also, three key players are involved with winter sports and will get a late start.

Outlook: The Tigers figure to be one of the strongest teams in the county. With a solid nucleus, and good sophomores coming in, Crumbley said his biggest worry is figuring out which lineup clicks.
