Citrus County's third season of high school fast-pitch softball will be dominated by young players.
Seniors dot the rosters of Citrus, Crystal River and Lecanto, but juniors, sophomores and even a few freshmen will make up the bulk of the starting lineups.
But youth doesn't necessarily spell inexperience. Several of the area's top young players _ Crystal River junior pitcher Amy Ingram, Lecanto junior shortstop Caren Napalitano and Citrus sophomore Julie Garcia _ are back from last year's starting lineups.
All three schools will look for youth to provide first-ever winning seasons in fast-pitch competition.
