The stars will be shooting this weekend at the Florida Suncoast Dome.

Footlocker Shootout Saturday and the 7UP Shootout Sunday will bring NCAA basketball action and an array of basketball-related events to the Dome _ not to mention such big names as Jim Valvano and Deion Sanders.

Footlocker Shootout Saturday will be from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and includes: the Women's and Men's Three-on-Three Semifinals, a U92 radio live remote, team practice sessions, a basketball clinic with Valvano, autograph sessions with sports celebrities, a celebrity wheelchair basketball game and the Delta Worldfest Challenge.

The 7UP Shootout, an inaugural NCAA college basketball doubleheader featuring four of the country's top teams, will begin at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. The Shootout will feature Temple vs. Arizona and DePaul vs. Florida State.

The NCAA teams will practice Saturday on the Dome's main court, and play Sunday. Temple will practice from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Arizona from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., DePaul from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., and Florida State from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday's games will be televised nationally on ABC Sports.

The Women's Three-on-Three Semifinals will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday on the Dome's exhibition court, featuring DePaul vs. Florida State. Arizona and Temple take the court at 10:45 a.m.

The Men's Three-on-Three Semifinals begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday on the Dome's exhibition court when DePaul battles Florida State. At 12:15 p.m., Arizona will compete against Temple.

Atlanta Braves/Falcons two-sport star "Neon" Deion Sanders will sign autographs from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, and participate with local celebrities in the Bayfront Medical Center Wheelchair Basketball Game vs. the St. Petersburg Pelicans at 4 p.m Saturday. Members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers also will sign autographs Saturday.

Valvano, an ABC sportscaster and former basketball coach, will give a basketball clinic on the exhibition court at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The Worldfest Challenge, a promotional contest sponsored by Delta, Paragon Cable and U92, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday. In the challenge, four teams will compete to see which of them can stack the most Delta Destination cubes the highest in five minutes. The Final Four teams each will receive free admission to the 7UP Shootout, and compete for a grand prize of two round-trip tickets for two to any of Delta Airlines 57 international destinations. All the teams represent a company or organization.

Both days will include Lindell Mazda's Automobile Village and a sports-related display area. The display area will include exhibits from the Basketball Hall of Fame, Bayfront Medical Center and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Lightning teams.

An Olive Garden Hospitality Area on Sunday will offer fans all-they-can-eat Olive Garden food, a ticket to the 7UP Shootout event, a cash bar and game program for an admission fee of $50 per person.

Local Footlocker outlets will offer Saturday visitors to the stores four free tickets per person, while supplies last.

Tickets are $3 for the Footlocker Shootout Saturday. Tickets to the 7UP Shootout on Sunday are $24.50, $17.50, $10 and $5 (plus service charge). Tickets for all events are available from the Dome box office and Ticketmaster.
